We took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent time outside journalling with our buddy class. Grade 6 students can do practice PATs on the website https://questaplus.alberta.ca/app/practice-test-access
There is also review material in the Google Classroom under PAT REVIEW.
MATH:
- in math grade 5's looked at 2D Shapes and did a reflection on our year as a mathematician
- Grade 6's worked on decimal place value and will be reviewing for the upcoming PAT
- it is recommended that students practice calculation skills
SCIENCE:
- we did an experiment analyzing soil characteristics and will be doing an experiment on analyzing chromatography and then bringing all of the concepts we've learned together in a final project
- there will be a review test on Friday the 16th or Monday the 19th depending
SOCIAL:
- Continuing to learn about the Provincial government and their role in Alberta
ELA:
- Continued with our Multi Genre project. Ask your child which topic and genres they chose.
VOLUNTEERS:
- we are in need of parent volunteers for our grade 6 farewell on Wednesday June 28th to help decorate the Learning Commons, cut the cake, etc. If you are a grade 5 parent you can still volunteer to pay if forward for next year. Please contact Heather Conellean heconnellan@cbe.ab.ca if you are interested. There are various opportunities.
CONTEST:

EDWORTHY WHOLE SCHOOL WALK:
- the whole school will be walking down to Edworthy Park on either Wednesday or Thursday depending on the weather. We will let students know on Monday. This will be a day to connect with nature, journal, and do other activities.
