Students started their Book Clubs  this week. They are in mixed groups with other students from Ms. Field & Ms. Baker's class. The expectation of this task is to come prepared to the Book Club with their book read up to the page recorded and their job done as well. As part of this task they will also be writing a Literature Circle response every week, which is due on Monday. Students have really liked working with students from the other classes and reading books from different genres then they are used to.

For writing we have been working on topic sentences, concluding sentences and supporting details. WE began to incorporate the above into paragraphs. This is in preparation for essay writing. Students will be working on research and picking a topic next week and writing our essays after spring break.

In Math, both the grade 5's & 6's had quizzes on Thursday, they will bring them home on Monday to show you. Next week, the grade 5's will be connecting decimals to fractions next week. In grade 6 students will be working on Algebra and Patterns.

For Science, students have been making crystals and looking at chemical changes.

Students also had a Social check in on the Iroquois Confederacy. They will begin to look at the Canadian Charter of Rights and Responsibilities next week.

Our Spring Concert was a great success, it was so nice having families in the building again to see their children perform.

Only 1 more week until spring break.
